Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026
targetState Resumes is a business name of TARGETSTATE HOUSE PTY LTD (ABN 87 699 594 851) – referred to here as "we", "us", and "our". We're based in Queensland, Australia.
This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal information when you use our website (targetstateresumes.com.au) or engage our services. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The information we collect
Because we write CVs, we necessarily handle a fair amount of personal information about you – much of it inside your CV. We collect:
Information you give us directly
- Contact details – your name, email address, and phone number, when you make an enquiry, request a free review, or place an order.
- Your CV and its contents – typically your employment history, education, qualifications, and skills. A CV can contain more detailed personal information, so please include only what you're comfortable sharing.
- Communications – the messages and information you share with us by email, through our forms, or during calls.
- Order and payment information – what you purchased and your billing details. We don't collect or store your full card number (see Payments below).
Information we collect automatically
- Basic technical information – when you visit our website, our hosting provider records standard server-log data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you view. We also collect information about how visitors use the site through cookieless analytics (see Analytics below).
How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- provide our services – writing and revising your CV, your LinkedIn profile, and preparing you for interviews;
- communicate with you – responding to enquiries, arranging calls, delivering your work, and handling revisions;
- process your payment and keep the records we're required to keep;
- improve our services; and
- meet our legal and tax obligations.
We only use your information for the purpose it was provided, for related purposes you'd reasonably expect, or as permitted or required by law.
Payments
We use Stripe to process payments securely. When you pay, your card details are entered directly into Stripe's systems – we don't see or store your full card number. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy and the applicable card-industry security standards. We receive a record of the transaction (such as the amount, date, and your name) so we can fulfil your order and keep our accounts.
Who we share your information with
We don't sell your personal information – ever. We share it only where necessary:
- Service providers who help us run the business, under obligations to protect your information. These currently include Stripe (payments), Resend (delivery of our emails), Netlify (website hosting), PostHog (website analytics, EU-hosted), and Microsoft 365 (our business email). As we grow we may use other providers, such as a client-management system, and we'll hold them to the same standard.
- Legal and safety reasons – where we're required or authorised by law, or need to protect our rights.
We don't disclose your information to third parties for their own marketing.
Sending information overseas
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How long we keep your information
We keep your CV and related personal information for 24 months after your project is complete – so we can help with revisions, any follow-up work, and your next update can start from where we left off – after which we delete or de-identify it, unless you ask us to keep it or we're required to hold it longer. We keep financial and transaction records for at least 5 years, as required by Australian tax law.
If you request a free review and don't go ahead, we'll delete the CV you sent within a reasonable period on request.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access – including using reputable providers, secure encrypted connections on our website, and limiting who can access your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take your privacy seriously and handle your information carefully.
Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies necessary to make it work. Our analytics runs in cookieless mode and sets no cookies (see Analytics below). Our payment provider, Stripe, may set cookies necessary for secure payment processing and fraud prevention when you go through checkout.
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how this site is used. It runs in cookieless mode – no cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device – with all data processed on PostHog's EU Cloud infrastructure. We record how visitors move through the site, including session replays of pages visited and interactions made. Anything typed into a form field is masked before it leaves your browser, and payment details are entered inside Stripe's secure checkout, which these recordings cannot see.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you can:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you; and
- ask us to correct it if it's inaccurate or out of date.
Just email us and we'll help. There's normally no charge, and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
If you're concerned about how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Our services are for adults
Our services are intended for working professionals and aren't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the "last updated" date at the top.
