Depending on how you contact us or use our services, we collect:

• Contact details: your name, email address and phone number when you enquire, request a review or place an order.
• Your CV: its contents, including your employment history, education, qualifications and skills.
• Messages and consultation information: what you share through forms, emails and calls.
• Order and billing information: what you purchase and the details needed to process and record the transaction.
• Referral details: the referrer's name and any contact details provided so we can credit the referral and send the gift card.
• Bench signup information: the email address you provide and any feedback or ideas you choose to send.

Please include only information you are comfortable sharing in your CV.

We do not see or store your full payment-card number.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and pages visited.

We also collect information about website use through cookieless analytics, explained below.

How we use your information

• Review, write and revise your CV and any LinkedIn content.
• Provide interview preparation.
• Respond to enquiries and arrange calls.
• Deliver your work and handle revisions or follow-up requests.

• Administer the referral thank-you program.
• Send Bench playbook emails when you sign up for them.

We use information for the purpose you provided it, related purposes you would reasonably expect, or purposes permitted or required by law.

Free CV reviews

When you request a free review, we use your CV and contact details to assess the document and contact you with feedback.

Requesting a free review does not subscribe you to The Bench or a mailing list.

If you do not go ahead with a paid service, you can ask us to delete the CV you submitted. We will do so within a reasonable period after your request.

Checkout and payments

We use Stripe to process payments securely.

Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's systems. Stripe handles that information under its own privacy policy and applicable payment-card security standards.

We receive transaction information, such as your name, the amount paid and the payment date. We use it to fulfil your order, provide a tax invoice and keep our accounts.

Your contact details are also used to request your CV, arrange the consultation and deliver the service.

Referral thank-you gifts

We may receive a referrer's name and contact details from the person booking, or use details we already hold. We use these details to credit the referral and send the gift card. We provide the recipient details needed for gift-card delivery to Prezzee.

The Bench emails

The Bench email signup is separate from a free review or paid booking.

When you sign up, we use your email address to send the Bench playbook emails you requested. Any feedback or ideas you send may help us decide what to publish next.

We do not sell your email address or disclose it to other organisations for their own marketing.

How long we keep information

Paid projects

We keep your CV and related personal information for 24 months after your project is complete. This lets us help with follow-up work and use your previous material as a starting point for a future update.

After that, we delete or de-identify it unless you ask us to keep it or we are required to retain it longer.

Financial records

We keep financial and transaction records for at least five years, as required by Australian tax law.

Free reviews

If you request a free review and do not proceed with a paid service, we will delete the submitted CV within a reasonable period on request.

How we protect information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

These steps include using reputable service providers, encrypted website connections and limits on who can access your information.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Cookies and website analytics

Our website uses only cookies needed to make it work. Stripe may use cookies for secure payment processing and fraud prevention during checkout.

PostHog analytics

We use PostHog to understand how people use the website.

It runs in cookieless mode: it does not set analytics cookies or store analytics data on your device. Analytics data is processed through PostHog's EU Cloud infrastructure.

We record pages visited and interactions, including session replays.

In these recordings, anything typed into a form field is masked before it leaves your browser. Payment details are entered inside Stripe's secure checkout and cannot be seen in these recordings.

Accessing or correcting your information

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you can ask us to:

• Provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
