Terms of service

These terms apply when you order or use the CV writing and related services provided by TARGETSTATE HOUSE PTY LTD, ABN 87 699 594 851, trading as targetState Resumes.

"We", "us" and "our" mean targetState Resumes. By placing an order or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.

What we provide

Our services include:

• The CV: a professionally written CV built around your experience.
• LinkedIn optimisation: rewriting your headline, About and experience sections.
• Second role focus: a second CV version tailored to another type of role.
• Priority turnaround: 48-hour or 24-hour delivery.
• Interview preparation: included with The CV, when you have an interview to prepare for.

We also offer a free, no-obligation CV review. This provides general feedback and creates no obligation on either side.

What we need from you

You agree to:

• Provide your current CV and the information we need.
• Take part in the consultation call.
• Give us accurate, truthful and complete information.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. We present your experience clearly, but we do not independently verify it. We are not responsible for consequences arising from inaccurate or misleading information you supply.

Prices and payment

All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. Your selected services and total are shown at checkout.

Payment is required upfront and is processed securely through Stripe. We provide a tax invoice.

We begin work once payment has been received and we have the information we need.

What happens after payment

You receive an email asking for your current CV and availability for a consultation. We then confirm a call time.

The call gives us the detail needed to write your CV. Paying does not start the delivery clock.

Delivery and turnaround

All turnaround times start once we have completed the consultation call and received the information needed.

Delays in providing information or being available for the call may affect delivery.

Same-day delivery

Same-day work depends on our capacity and must be arranged before payment.

Contact us first. If we can take the work, we will confirm the price and send a payment link for the full amount.

Same-day orders have the same 45-day interview guarantee and eligibility conditions as standard orders.

Revisions

The CV includes unlimited revisions for 14 days from delivery of your first draft. Send your feedback within that period and we will refine the work.

Revisions cover getting the delivered work right. Substantial new requests may fall outside the original scope – for example, targeting a different type of role unless you purchased Second role focus.

The 45-day interview guarantee

Every CV comes with this guarantee:

If you actively apply for the agreed role types and receive no qualifying interview or screening call within 45 days of receiving your final CV, we will rewrite it once at no extra cost, subject to the conditions below.

The guarantee covers one complete rewrite per CV purchased. Its remedy is a rewrite, not a refund.

When the 45 days start

The period starts on the day we deliver your final CV – the last version after any revisions.

What counts as an interview

Either of these counts:

• An employer interview or screening call for a role your CV was built for.
• A genuine recruiter screening or shortlisting conversation about a specific role you applied for, within the agreed role types.

A general recruiter check-in without a specific application being discussed does not count.

One qualifying interview or screening call within the period satisfies the guarantee. A job offer is not required.

When you are covered

All of these conditions must apply:

• You have been actively applying for roles.
• You are targeting the role types we discussed and agreed on during the consultation.
• You meet the core requirements of those roles.
• You are using the CV we delivered. Light tailoring for individual applications is fine; substantially rewriting or restructuring it is not covered.

The guarantee does not cover a change of career direction, different role types, roles well beyond your experience level, applications where you do not meet the core requirements, or a substantially rewritten CV.

How to claim

After the 45-day period, email hello@targetstateresumes.com.au and ask to claim the guarantee.

Suggested subject: "45-day guarantee".

Include the last three roles you applied for using the CV:

• Job title and company or agency.
• Date you applied.
• A link to the posting, if you have one.

We will review your CV, the roles you targeted and your application approach.

If you are covered, we will begin the rewrite within five business days. This is the start time for the rewrite.

What the rewrite includes

• A review of your CV, applications and approach.
• A complete rewrite with fresh positioning.
• Recommendations on your application strategy.

If we identify something outside the CV that may be holding you back, we will explain it and provide specific guidance.

This guarantee is additional to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and does not limit them.

Refunds

You can receive a full refund at any time before our consultation call. Contact us if you decide not to proceed.

Once we have had the call and started work, we do not offer refunds for change of mind. The work is personalised and has begun. The revision period and 45-day interview guarantee still apply.

If something has gone wrong with our service, contact us so we can make it right.

Nothing in this refund policy limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Job outcomes

We stand behind the quality of our work and the guarantee above.

We do not guarantee a job offer. That depends on factors including your interviews, the roles you pursue and the market.

Your information and finished work

Your information remains yours. You retain ownership of the personal information and career history you provide.

The delivered work is yours to use once paid for. This includes your CV, LinkedIn content and any second CV version.

Our methods remain ours. Our approach, templates and know-how remain our intellectual property.

We keep your information confidential and handle it according to our Privacy Policy.

We may use anonymised, de-identified examples of our work to demonstrate the service, with details that could identify you removed.

Referral thank-you

When you refer someone who becomes a paying client, you can receive an A$100 digital gift card, currently through Prezzee.

The referral must mention your name when booking. We also ask new clients who referred them.

The gift is earned once the referred client has paid in full and their CV has been delivered. We send it within seven days of delivery, using contact details they provide or details we already hold.

These rules apply:

• One gift per referred client.
• Self-referrals do not qualify.
• Refunded purchases do not qualify.
• For recruiters, only personal-network referrals qualify. The gift does not apply to a candidate you are representing for a role.
• Any tax treatment of the gift is the referrer's responsibility.

Referrers recommend the service. Any promises about outcomes come from targetState Resumes and the published guarantee.

A referral does not change the client's price or service. New clients are told that their referrer may receive a thank-you gift.

The program may change or close at any time. Gifts already earned will be honoured.

Our responsibility to you

We provide our services with due care and skill.

To the extent the law allows:

• We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost job opportunities or income.
• Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service concerned.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Your Australian Consumer Law rights

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that services will be provided with due care and skill and within a reasonable time.

If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you are entitled to a remedy under that law. Nothing in these terms takes those rights away.

Cancellation

You can decide not to proceed before we have started work. Let us know.

Once work has started, the refund rules above apply.

We may decline or stop work in rare cases – for example, if we cannot obtain the information needed or a request is unlawful or unreasonable.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time.

The version published when you place your order applies to that order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. The courts of Queensland have jurisdiction.
