Terms of Service

These terms apply when you engage targetState Resumes, a business name of TARGETSTATE HOUSE PTY LTD (ABN 87 699 594 851) – "we", "us", "our" – for CV writing and related services. By placing an order or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.

Our services

We write and refine CVs for IT contractors and project professionals, with related services you can add on:

• The CV – our core service: a professionally written CV built around your experience.
• LinkedIn optimisation – rewriting your LinkedIn headline, about, and experience sections.
• Second role focus – a second version of your CV tailored to a different type of role.
• Priority turnaround – faster delivery (48-hour or 24-hour) than our standard timeframe.
• Interview preparation – included with the CV, provided when you have an interview to prepare for.

We also offer a free, no-obligation CV review. A free review is general feedback only and creates no obligation on either side.

What we need from you

The work goes best when you're involved. You agree to:

• provide your current CV and the information we need;
• take part in a call with us – this is where the detail that makes your CV strong comes out; and
• give us accurate, truthful, and complete information.

You're responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us. We present your experience clearly and compellingly, but we don't independently verify it, and we're not responsible for any consequences of inaccurate or misleading information you provide.

Pricing and payment

All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST. Payment is made upfront through our checkout, processed securely by Stripe, and we'll provide a tax invoice for your purchase. We begin work once payment is received and we have what we need from you.

Delivery

Our standard delivery is within 3 business days, measured from when we've had our call and have the information we need – not simply from when you order. If you choose a priority turnaround (48-hour or 24-hour), delivery is measured on the same basis. Timeframes depend on you providing your information and being available for the call; delays there may affect delivery.

Same-day delivery is sometimes available, subject to our capacity on the day – it isn't a fixed option you can select at checkout. Contact us first; if we can fit your order in, we'll confirm the price and send you a payment link for the full amount. Same-day orders are covered by our 45-day interview guarantee on the same conditions as standard delivery.

Revisions

We want your CV to land. That's why the CV includes unlimited revisions for 14 days after delivery – send your feedback within that window and we'll refine it. Revisions are about getting the delivered work right; substantial new requests (for example, targeting an entirely different role, unless you've bought Second role focus) may fall outside the original scope.

The 45-day interview guarantee

Every CV comes with our 45-day interview guarantee.

The promise. If your CV doesn't land you an interview for the roles it was written for within 45 days of receiving your final CV, we'll rewrite it from scratch – at no cost. ("An interview" here includes a genuine screening or shortlisting conversation with an employer or their recruiter for those roles.)

When you're covered. The guarantee applies when:

• you've been actively applying to the roles we discussed and built your CV for;
• you're targeting the same kinds of roles we agreed on our call, not a different direction;
• you meet the core requirements for the roles you're applying to; and
• you've been using the CV as delivered, not substantially rewritten.

When it doesn't apply. The guarantee doesn't apply if:

• you're applying for different roles than the ones your CV was built for;
• you've changed direction since our call;
• you're targeting roles well beyond your experience level;
• you've substantially modified the CV yourself; or
• you don't meet the core requirements for the roles you're chasing.

These aren't CV problems – they call for a different CV built for a different target (our Second role focus service), not a rewrite of this one.

How to claim. After 45 days, if you haven't landed an interview:

1. Email us at hello@targetstateresumes.com.au and ask to claim the 45-day guarantee.
2. Send us the last 3 roles you applied to with this CV – the job title and company, a link to the posting if you have one, and the date you applied.
3. We'll review your CV against the roles you've been targeting and how you've been applying.
4. If you're covered, we'll begin the rewrite within 5 business days. If something outside the CV is holding you back, we'll tell you honestly and give you specific guidance to improve your approach.

What the rewrite includes. A full review of your CV, the roles you applied to, and your approach; a complete rewrite with fresh positioning; and recommendations on your application strategy. The guarantee covers one rewrite.

This guarantee is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which it doesn't limit.

Refunds

You can get a full refund any time before our call – if you change your mind before we've started, just let us know. Once we've had our call and started work, we don't offer refunds for change of mind, because the work is personalised to you and begins straight away. Instead, you're protected by 14 days of unlimited revisions and the 45-day interview guarantee above.

None of this affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see below), which we don't exclude. If something has genuinely gone wrong with our service, contact us and we'll make it right.

Results

Our 45-day guarantee covers interviews for the roles your CV is built for (above). What we can't guarantee is the job offer itself – that comes down to how you interview, the roles you go for, and the market, all of which are outside our control. What we stand behind is the quality of your CV and the guarantee above.

Your content and confidentiality

• Your information is yours. You keep ownership of the personal information and career history you give us.
• The finished work is yours. Once you've paid, the CV – and any LinkedIn content or second version – we deliver is yours to use.
• We keep your information confidential and handle it in line with our Privacy Policy.
• Our methods stay ours. The way we work – our approach, templates, and know-how – remains our intellectual property.
• De-identified examples. We may use anonymised, de-identified examples of our work to show what we do, with any details that could identify you removed.

Our responsibility to you

We provide our services with due care and skill. To the extent the law allows:

• we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost job opportunities or income); and
• our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in question.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law – including that they'll be provided with due care and skill and within a reasonable time. If we fail to meet a consumer guarantee, you're entitled to a remedy under that law, and nothing in these terms takes those rights away.

Cancellation

You can decide not to proceed before we've started work – just let us know. Once work has started, the refund position above applies. We may decline or stop work in rare cases (for example, if we can't get the information we need, or if a request is unlawful or unreasonable).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time you order is the one that applies to your order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland have jurisdiction.
